we decided to purchase seedlings instead of starting seeds indoors. most were purchased from the farmers market, some from lowes. we planted 26 tomato seedlings (12 roma, 4 parks whopper, 4 rutgers, 3 san marzano, 2 cherokee purple, 1 old german), 4 cayenne pepper seedlings, 2 yellow bell pepper, 4 sweet anne peas, and 9 sweet potatoes. we bought a small rosemary plant to add to the herb section. we direct planted arugula and spinach seeds.  these were all planted april 17.

we made the easy hoop houses out of 1/2 inch flexible pvc pipe and 1 mil plastic sheeting to keep the temperatures up a bit at night.
